Episode 13: Dead of Night (with writer Jez Connolly)

The Cinematologists go on the road again, this time to the University of Bristol, to screen the Ealing produced British anthology horror Dead of Night (1945). Dario and Neil discuss the film with Jez Conolly who has co-authored a book on the film with David Owain Bates as part of Auteur’s ‘Devil’s Advocates’ series. Jez Conolly is co-editor, with Caroline Whelan, of three books in the ‘World Film Locations’ series (Dublin, Reykjavik and Liverpool) published by Intellect. He writes regularly for The Big Picture magazine and has contributed to numerous other cinema books and journals. His most recently published book, in Auteur’s ‘Devil’s Advocates’ series, concerns John Carpenter’s The Thing. His latest book on Dead of Night is due for publication on 11th November 2015 but can be pre-ordered.
