The Cinema Studies softball team will play its second game this Easter Sunday against We're Huge in Japan.

Cinema Studies hopes to keep alive what momentum exists after last week's game being cancelled due to "unplayable" playable conditions.

Straayers Playaz will field exactly ten players in this game, foregoing the extra hitter and allowing the lineup to cycle through much faster. Tori Wunsch and Adam Rubin, who both played in our first game, will not be with us this weekend, but longtime fastpitch softball player, Lauren Dieman, will filed third base, her usual position throughout her playing years.

Returning to the game will be shortstop Steve Farneth, keystone Nicole Baer, and first baseman Charley Leary. Derek Kane-Meddock, Wyatt Phillips, and David Wexler will patrol the outfield, along with Rob Levin, who is shifting there from the extra hitter position. Pitcher Juan Monroy and catcher Dan Hanamura will form the battery in Sunday's game.

Due to the Easter holiday, only three games will be played on Sunday. The 8B Fluskies will battle the Mets at 9:30 AM. The 11:00 (GOP) game will have Cheney's Got a Gun host the College Republicans. Cinema Studies and We're Huge in Japan will finish the day's play at 12:30. All games on Sunday will be at East River Park's Field 6, an artificial-turf field just north of Houston Street.

In last year's aborted single-elimination tournament, We're Huge in Japan lost their only game against the Blue Sox. Cinema Studies defeated the Blue Sox, 9-3, and eliminated them from tournament play. This year, Schnitzel formed with many players from last year's Blue Sox. Cinema Studies beat Schnitzel, 13-10, in the Straayers Playaz's season opener.

For those interested in seeing Sunday's game, you may take the free shuttle bus from Coles that departs from Mercer and Bleecker Streets at 11:45 AM. Alternately, you may go to Field 6, just north of Houston Street and the FDR. This website contains directions to the field as well as the 2006 schedule.
